Dr. Nicole Herrick is a board-certified cardiologist with subspecialty expertise in women's cardiovascular health and cardio-obstetrics. She completed her cardiovascular disease fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, where she received the UCSF Graduate Medical Education Excellence and Innovation Award.

Prior to fellowship, she completed a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at UC San Diego, serving as Chief Resident. Her clinical and research focus centers on cardiovascular disease in women — with a particular passion for the care of women with heart disease during pregnancy and the postpartum period.

She has been principal investigator on the BRITE-MOM Study, a prospective cohort examining cardiac arrhythmias during pregnancy, funded by the Adult Congenital Heart Association. Her work has been published in JACC, JAHA, and Heart Failure Clinics.

Located at 4060 Fourth Ave, Suite 500, San Diego, CA 92103. Parking is available in the building garage and on surrounding streets.
Telehealth Visits
Select follow-up and consultation visits are available via Zoom for patients located anywhere in California. Ask our team if your appointment qualifies for telehealth.
Lab & Imaging Results
Results are communicated through your patient portal with physician commentary. You will receive a notification when new results are available.

How to Prepare for Your Visit

First appointment checklist

A little preparation goes a long way. Bringing the right information to your first visit helps us provide the best possible care from day one.

  • Photo ID and insurance card
  • List of current medications and dosages
  • Prior cardiology records, ECGs, or imaging if available
  • Names of your primary care physician and other specialists
  • Family history of heart disease, if known
  • List of your questions and concerns
Plan Your Arrival Please arrive 10–15 minutes early for your first appointment to complete any remaining intake forms and allow time for parking.
Interpreter Services If you need an interpreter, please let us know when scheduling and we will arrange Language Line services for your visit at no cost.

The BRITE-MOM Study &
Cardio-Obstetrics Research

Dr. Herrick has served as principal investigator on the BRITE-MOM Study, a prospective cohort examining cardiac arrhythmias during pregnancy, funded by the Adult Congenital Heart Association. Her ongoing work focuses on arrhythmia risk in women with congenital heart disease during pregnancy and on population-level outcomes using large administrative datasets.
